A Need to Vent Post

This week has been a whirlwind for me as I left a job that I know how to do and love doing to make a better schedule for family and myself. This weekend I have been super stressed and overwhelmed and have been trying to cope with what is going on. I never intended to leave my job for another, the opportunity just arose and after much debate I knew what I had to do. This post is more for me than anything else. I have struggled with being a good parent and having the energy I need to do a better job.

I came across this after I had resigned and it is crazy thatwas me when I was challenged with long hours. Like, and yet unlike, so many others my day starts usually before 6 a.m. Not only do I get myself fed and dressed and ready in less than 2 hours but I get two kids dressed and delivered to daycare w/ diapers/nap mats/breakfast/etc.. Shaun is here to help but let me say that even w/ two of us it is a mere miracle that we get it all together. The dogs need to be fed, the trash to be taken to the curb, occasional flat tires and a few unnecessary tantrums. It is chaos. Then I work 8-9 hours and go back to get the kids, get them home, and work on the rest of the evening. By 9 p.m. my day is finally over and I can relax. Just knowing that any of this schedule could be pushed back by an hour or more made me a wreck! Shaun has to work 50 hours at least a week so I can't even get into his schedule.

It doesn't help that I am probably one of the best worryiers (I know I didn't spell that right) in the world. I want to be the best at everything.. my job, parenting, being a wife, etc.. that is impossible. And no one is criticizing my job but me. SO, to make a long story short, I am taking on a new, hopefully less stressful, position. It will challenge me but will have set hours with not many if any variations. And I know that is the right thing. At this point in life avoiding any new stresses is so important. I want the world for my boys and I can't do my part when I am a nervous wreck. They are going thru so many changes and I have to keep life as normal as we can make it.

These two guys keep me busy and I am a 24 hour lifeguard to them. I would be absolutely lost without them. They make my muscles weak and my head hurt, but they are what I wake up for every morning. Someday they will not need me so much and I will have the opportunity to put more into something else. I never thought parenting would take so much out of me, but in a good way. I always knew God wanted me to make a difference in peoples lives, but I always thought that would be strangers. Now I know he means these little guys too. They might not always do what I ask but somehow I think they will remember what I have said. I will be making personal sacrifices for the rest of my life and I have to be okay with that, as does any parent. Changing jobs has been one of those sacrifices, and I am 100% at peace with it and hope I will make my next employer happy. Thanks for reading my vent... it does help. While I am writing this I have been met every two or three minutes by a little hand needing something. It has taken me way longer than it should have, but that doesn't matter. Tomorrow is a new day, gotta get ready!

The Big News.......

I think it is safe to finally let the word out that Shaun and I will.....

not be having any more of babies.... why you ask? Well, take a hard look at this cute and adorable red head..

I hate to say it but I am afriad this little rascal has ruined his chances of being a big brother! Partly kidding here, we may give it a few years and re-think it; but we are too busy right now w/ our little man!

We finally got our two year check up in. You weigh 32 pounds buddy and seemed to be in the 95th percentile in about every category. I think you may be taller than Jack was at 2.

Caliou, Dino Dan, and Dinosaur Train are your favorite shows and you and your brother aggervate each other just like me and Michelle. You really aren't into toys but will occasionally play w/ cars and it is sweet to watch you lay on your side and scoot the cars along. (I will get a picture of this soon I hope) You mostly get into my stuff or anything you aren't supposed too.

Gross... you do this a lot! I tell myself it is normal, and I really do think it is... I just don't remember your brother doing it. You love playing in dirt, any and all kinds of dirt. AND, you are a crazy man in the water. I truly believe you are the reason why God got me into lifeguarding when I was young.

Even though you keep us on our toes, your hugs are the best I have ever had. And your sweet little voice melts my heart everytime I hear it. So happy to have you in our family and can't believe you are becoming such a big boy already.

Westyn Turned 2

I can't believe my little boys is 2 years old. And boy, is he ever!! This little red head is a spit ball and keeps us on our toes, everyone, even Jackson. Jackson had more fun w/ Westyn's birthday than the birthday boy. I don't think he gave two cents about the whole thing. He did learn some new words, such as birthday cake and cookies.

Birthday Boy Breakfast.. cinnamon rolls...everyone's favorite!

He wanted the candle, and when I say he wanted it.. I mean he wanted to eat it..it was a meltdown in the making

I slaved over cinnamon rolls and all he wanted was the stinkin candle!

Only about ten days..

I know I haven't done the best job lately updating the blog... sorry! It is only because I have been spending numerous hours exercising and improving myself.. hahahahah..

It's Hot, and I mean HOT!!

We stay inside a lot right now.. Mom can't handle this heat!! The dogs appreciate being inside as well!

Sometimes we venture out; but it is later in the day and not for long!

What a moment! Jackson's last day at the "little" school was the same day as his Mother's Day Event!

I was able to go to both boys mother's day tea and it was very memorable.

I love my boys to death and I love the effort they put forth (or their teachers) for this special day!

I wanted to post several more pictures but blogger is going really slow and I just don't have time! I promise I will post more this week, we have been busy and it is getting harder to keep up with everything.

I feel like such a slacker.. I have posted in well over a week but to my defense I have been a little busy.

I don't really what all has been taking so much of our time other than life itself! We have managed to do everything under the sun (except the laundry-which I tried to get under control this weekend).

I have been walking w/ my friend/coworker Anne over the past couple of weeks and that has been fantastic for my energy. Shaun is working on building an outdoor bar and that has been interesting. I think it is safe to say he is about half way done. Our plan is put in a mini fridge and trash can on one side and then a place for all the outdoor toys. He has been using most of the old lumber the old homeowner left behind but I think that luxury {still questionable if it was the best idea} is about up. One day, soon I hope, we will have an awesome back porch that is kid friendly and "adult" friendly. Now I just need a spot to plant some amazing colorful plants. I have quite a few pots already.

The boys are good. Westyn smoked his head yesterday and has a massive knot on his head... poor kid. This weekend he decided that the lady on Monsters and Aliens {Think that is the name of the movie (voice of Reese Witherspoon)} is "momma". I am totally okay w/ that even though I haven't actually seen the movie. She is hot on the cover of the DVD case though and I bet she is cool too! Jackson and I did have been doing some heavy duty wrestling and I think he is actually a little scared of me. Isn't that how it should be? I have been thinking about his birthday party on April 9th and I am pretty sure it will have no theme.. I just like to flow like that. Last years it was Dinosaurs and Soccer Balls, year before that.. I don't remember.. but I am just going to keep it calm and stress free.

Here is a picture of my sweet boys!! They are fighting more and more these days and I think I am about to just give up on trying to make us all get along. Shaun and I have been trying out different techniques on who to let win these fights and I still don't like any of the results. Westyn is down right mean, and Jackson just likes to aggervate. I am sure this is normal behavior but man, it is hard to watch all day.

Speaking of normal, this is our normal family!

This one makes 5

So this marks our 5th ear infection so far this "season" {2.5 months}. Apparently I can't keep an accurate count so I have decided to go ahead and document this one in case the Dr's office decides to start subtracting on me. This means one more and we get to visit w/ the ENT Dr. I am not that excited about tubes, but I am excited to see my little guy happy and healthy. I feel like all of these antibiotics every three weeks can't be good for him.

It is 2011... it is so hard to believe that my kids will be turning 2 and 4 this year. I found these pictures on my sisters blog and wanted to put them on mine. She has pretty much swarn off blogging I think, or at least updating hers. I have enjoyed going back thru her pictures though. She would document just enough to know what was going on.

I can't lose this blog post because it is hard enough for me to remember the details, this will be needed later when he starts asking these questions.

Thank goodness for a nice and sick free weekend!

Besides a few meltdowns from a cranky certain somebody, we did have a great weekend.

Jackson was a big helper on Friday and let mom get some pictures of him as I practice for my upcoming mini session.

I love the second picture. Jackson's face is so funny yet cool. I think he is finally getting okay w/ all the pictures mom insists he takes. Let's be honest, getting the other one to sit still is a joke. I can't wait to get to start taking more pictures outside, I LOVE SPRING AND SUMMER and so does my camera. Ha Ha

*Before I forget I have to post something sweet Jackson did for me today- I was trying to bring some plants in the back door and hit myself square in the middle of the forehead with the door and it hurt. I let out a big "Ouch.. ewhhh" and instantly my eyes started to swell up. Did I mention it hurt? Jackson was standing there and got so scared and sad for me. He ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug and started crying. It was so awesome to see the little guy care so much. His heart is so big and I love that about him.

I have no idea where this guy was during mom's little injury. Probably digging thru the pantry... being a mess!

Look, you can kind of see his chipped tooth.. Top Front left!! I am still so baffled by this tooth thing. I went almost 27 years before I finally chipped a tooth.. and it was in the back. This kid isn't even 2 yet and hasn't made a peep of it. He is keeping his hands in his mouth a lot more???

I wanted to post this picture of me and Jackson as a reminder to myself of my sweet smart boy; but also to remind myself of my goal months ago to LOSE weight. Good grief, I am suck a slacker.

I don't know some of you mothers can look so awesome all the time. I am exhausted all the time and have to fight battles with myself to not eat what I want. I have been asked to walk/run a 5K in May.. seriously.. how in the world am I going to do this. I am trying to set myself up to do, wish me luck. I am SO going to need it.

Well, it's been a week and I am a slacker. I just haven't been getting my camera out lately to take many pictures, unexplainable really!

Our weeks have been kind of boring to be honest. Westyn did chip a tooth which has caused mom much grief but he seems to be fine. I can't get a picture of the thing but it isn't anything too terrible. I swear, those boys just go crazy all the time and it is a wonder we haven't had any other chips and breaks along the way. I am sure we will.. just give it some time.

My parents came in for a visit last weekend and like always the kids had a blast. I love the fact that grandparents are such a big deal for my kids. And I am pretty sure the grandparents feel the same way. Since we don't get to see both sets that much it is extra special to see them interact with the kids. Jackson really wanted to go back to Mimi's house to play with her toys, and he wanted Pappaw to watch "Westereens" {Westerns}with him.

Saturday night I went to an engagement party for my sister at her friend Megan's house. It was a lot of fun. They made each of us a wine class and had delicious food. I mean "D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S" food. I may have spelled that wrong. I am still getting a chance to meet some of these awesome girls and it was a lot of fun.

Megan took this photo and I hope I have permission to use it? We are so excited about Michelle and David getting hitched.

In other news: Jackson has been so funny lately! That kid learns so much everyday and it is exhausting following him. I think I refer to pretty much everything as "exhausting" these days. He is counting in spanish now and using really big words like "mom you are aggervating me" Who knew? One conversation we had the other day went like this:

Jackson: "Mom, my eye really hurts, it really hurts"- crying and stressing out

Me: "Well babe, let me look at it and see what I can to help you"

Jackson: "I think a graham cracker will help"

Me: "Oh you want a graham cracker?"

Jackson: "Yes, Mom, this will help my eye"

I swear the kid is a genius, his eye was better within minutes of getting that graham cracker. They learn to work the system so early in life. They know the triggers I have and perhaps that is what makes it so exhausting.

On to a decorating note:

I am really liking the look of hardwood floors (well laminate actually) since I have a nice new stain on our white carpet. I don't know if it would be feasible for us to get them at this time, but hopefully we can at some point. I like these next two colors the best, but man, the selection is crazy big.

I think for sanity purposes they would be best in our living room, but we would have to get a nice big rug.

Are you happy Mom?

I swear sometimes Jackson is the smartest kid in the world. I guess about a month ago he started asking Shaun and I if we were happy? Usually this was after he had spilled his snack all over the kitchen floor, or when he purposely stepped on his favorite toy in frustration. However, there are times when we are both tired of just work, etc, and he will ask us if we are happy and it makes us both realize that "Yes" we are. It is crazy how many times these little kids have to remind of us of our blessings.We are adults, we should be the one reminding them but so many times the situation is reversed.

Then today we were playing and he let me borrow his hammer which I started brushing my hair with. He preceeded to tell me that I wasn't supposed to do that but did listen and kept brushing my hair with it. This kid recited me word for word and scolded me for not listening to him! Such a proud moment!

He loves to be a big brother in that he likes to tell his little bro "No" and "Stop it" for me! I like the idea, it just doesn't really work. I can send him to check on Westyn and usually he comes back w/ the full honest report to what that kid is into!

Perhaps the biggest blessing of our week was when Jackson fell asleep on his own and without Shaun and I while we tended to his sick little brother. It is as if he knew we had our hands full and he didn't need us {which is really sad now that I think about it}.

Preparing for the Dog Days of Summer

As we prepare for the next cold front to emerge I couldn't help but get some photos of my boys doing what they do best: getting dirty, making messes, and running from my camera.

Case in point

When I asked Jackson to give his brother a hug he mauled him over. Typical for them. Hugs don't happen but slaps in the face are frequent. I am just happy to not see any tears.

I can't believe how fast these two boys are growing up and learning. Jackson's vocabulary is so crazy and Westyn's is growing as well.

So, even though these boys mess up the house, they leave their toys everywhere, and pretty much still need me for everything.. they are the cutest most adorable little boys I know! I love them to pieces!!

Happy Valentine's Day

This post has nothing to do w/ Valentine's day and I apologize I have nothing cute to add about Valentine's day but I don't. No excuses. The boys both had sweetheart parties at school and when I picked them up it was meltdown city at our house. Just imagine a full day of sweets, cupcakes, suckers, etc.. this led to an uneasiness w/ eating anything healthy for the rest of the night.

I do think that Jackson did understand Valentines and I had a great time addressing his valentine's for his class.

We have a busy week this week since we are taking a trip back to Tulsa to visit! All of us are very excited to go back and see our old family and friends. It will be a short visit but we plan on fitting in all that we can. Let the tiredness begin.

I can't really have a post w/o pictures so I wanted to add some pics on here of some really cool ideas I can across online.

I found some of these canisters at Hobby Lobby but I am waiting on them to be half price

I am still really struggling w/ our toy situation. I truly feel that there has got to be some solution out there for me, it may involve some sort of anxity medication but I really liked these two storage solutions.

SPRING BREAK 2011- FEBRUARY

Well it is not exactly spring break, but I have been off work for 3 days leading into the weekend because of snow so it might as well be my spring break. I have actually enjoyed the break. I have literally left the house about three times in three days and that is okay w/ me. Laundry is getting washed and toys are being organized. I might actually get to do some painting today.

Do you have a favorite cup when it come to drinking your coffee? I do. I have a couple actually. This is one of them. I don't know why but my coffee taste better to me in certain cups. What is even stranger is that I won't even try coffee from restaurants, I only like it out of my $20 coffee maker.

Little guy w/ the big guys. I got these picutes last week when we got the little snow. We didn't even get out and play in the bigger snow we just got. I guess it is fair to say we are over it!

We have done a lot of coloring, goofing off, and playing w/ play doh. Westyn is really into coloring but still tries to eat them so his coloring is often times cut short. Since play doh keeps Jackson busy for over an hour at a time it my favorite.

No play doh for Westyn, but he loves baths..

Geez Jackson, you are so creative making that cap for your dinosaur.

I plan on taking more pictures today, all day actually, so there might me another post coming up.

I can think of so many things I want to do during this break, let's see if I can stay focused and do them?

A little bit of everything

Well, I needed to share a few pictures I had taken about two weeks ago of the boys helping w/ my Yoga video. Prestyn actually did more of the video than I did.. hah! Ridiculous I know.

It is HARD.. that yoga w/ Jillian Michael.. H> A>R>D.

On a different note, I messed w/ my curtains and wanted to share what I did. I had spotten this table cloth at Target (imagine that) awhile back and loved it. It appeared vintage to me and I have been looking for that nice RED clearance sticker and finally got it. I decided to cut the square table cloth in half and make curtains for the hearth room w/ them. Those windows are small anyways and I like the light they let it. I do like the look of curtains on them as well so I win both ways.

Isn't this fabric just fun??? I think for late winter early spring it is the perfect set of colors.

Isn't this guy cute too! He goes just as perfect w/ those homemade curtains.

And don't worry, I found a place for the other curtains too! All of this re-arranging for $11!!

CAUTION.. THIS TOO IS A WORK IN PROGRESS

I really wanted to post this picture for the doubters out there. Now I realize the tension rod is bent, but it was one I already had and wanted to give my idea a try w/o putting any holes in a perfectly fine wall.I will buy a new and better one soon. I have been wanting privacy for these little windows by the door for awhile. Buying blinds would be expensive and I am not sold on the idea of having them covered at all times. With these curtains hung up I can close them as I want too. It doesn't look great from the inside w/ them closed, but that doesn't bother me.

I have many more bithday pictures I would like to share but I need to get permission first. For now I will leave you w/ this one.

Happy 30th Birthday to Me!

I wish turning 30 was exciting to me but really it isn't. I dreaded it much more than I thought I would. One major thing I realized this birthday is how much weight I really do need to lose. I am slacking on this blog when it comes to updating my weight. Let's face it people, it isn't going to get any easier. Shaun and I made promises on the ride home to really start making a dent in this weightloss thing. Hopefully I will have good news to report on that soon.

Back to the Birthday fun..

I feel as old as this car and I just turned 30.. ugh!!

Michelle and David came up with this idea to rent a log cabin in Magazine, AR. There was a small group of us that went up for the day and night and it was so much fun.

It is a beautiful ride thru Northwest AR and the view from the cabin really was relaxing.

This was our view, haha. just kidding! It looked more like this..

My Mom and Dad watched the boys for the first time since we went to the DR. I am glad to say the boys have grown up a bit and I think they really loved having their Mimi and Papa around. I know they are really busy kids and thank you Mimi and Papa, Mom and Dad sure did enjoy our little bit of peace and quiet.

We all had four wheelers and went on one of the trails thru the mountain. It was so much fun, and thankfully we found the water. I don't really think Michelle reads my blog or she would shoot me for putting this picture of her on here but I just had too. We wore our rain boots because we thought it would be easier to clean them up afterwards, but we didn't realize how they might be a little slippery in the water..

The rest of us got wet this way.. but Michelle got wet both ways!! hahah..

We had a great time and will be going back for sure!

Quick blog (no pictures, sorry)

So, I just thought I would blog about this week so far since I have ten more minutes of freedom. Currently both boys are in the bathtub which is my secret place to send them so I can eat or get on the computer. Westyn is splashing and yelling and Jackson is probably pinching him but I don't care at this point.

Westyn has an ear infection in both ears, fun times! Jackson has been such a good sport over the last couple of days and is now being ignored and yelled at thanks to the needy sick child. I turn 30 next week-- so I am in a deep stage of denial or depression.

Just so things they do that I don't want to forget... Westyn is a terror at the doctor's office. I am sure most 18 months are but he is so bad. I think the next time he gets sick I will just wait it out because it might be easier. Both boys are still in love w/ the Sandlot movie. During certain scenes Westyn runs and does a slide (even w/ an ear infection) and they both point their pointer finger in the air. The more I watch the more I like it.

I will have much more to post later hopefully.. back to sick Westyn.

My dear boys:

You two are wearing your mom and dad out!! I love it, but man it is exhausting.

Jackson is learning so much and is so smart. He made a comment this morning that he had a butterfly in his ear, and I know the twittering feeling he is talking about. The innocence in him is so adorable. He likes to tell on the kids in his class, at least to Shaun and I. You get out of bed on your own like a big kid these days and although I love it, it makes me kind of sad. You still like to have one of us lay w/ you and read or tell stories.

You can tell you love your little brother, and that makes dealing w/ two rowdy bossy boys worth it everyday! I know you won't always get along, but I truly hope you are able to lean on each other when you need too.

His brother, quite the opposite. This kid loves to hear himself scream. When I say scream, I mean scream! The minute I walk into his class at daycare he starts yelling "bye bye".. over and over. He still isn't really to keen on that place. I guess it is fair to say we are already dealing w/ the terrible two's. That is totally what it feels like. His hair is finally coming in!!!!!!!!!!!! It is about dang time. I was looking back at Jackson at 18 months and he had a mop on his head. It is crazy how these boys can be totally different. Westyn, you are so lucky to have a big brother to watch over you. I don't think your dad and I could do it without him.

An addition to my Addiction (Hobby)

Well, thanks to my darling husbands support I have decided to go ahead and set up a small portrait studio in my house. The cost was relatively cheap surprisingly for what I wanted to do. I can tell looking for props is going to be my downfall! Conway has some awesome antique stores that I will be doing must of looking at. My little Red Head!

Surprisingly this kid was my best subject when it came to trying out the new studio. He was only still for a couple of minutes but at least I was able to get a couple good shots when he was.

There is a football somewhere.. oh wait, he just threw it at my face.

Yeah, there is a story behind these. Missed a nap, woke up early, too much sugar, etc...

Michelle had a great idea to make Valentine's Day card w/ the boys pictures for their classmates. Obviously Jackson's picture is hilarious. I like to think he is saying "Be Mine or I will cry".

I was playing around with another idea before I got the studio and this was the only subject I could get to play along.

A post with a lot of words, not a lot of pictures

It has been awhile since I have written a lot on here so I thought I would write and document somethings before I forget all about them.

Tonight while reading books with Jack he referred to a firetruck having fire in it's hose instead of water. Found it pretty cute that he doesn't understand that fire trucks actually put out fire and it is water in that hose. Oh well, one day he will get it.
Jackson also informed me today that Starbust candy is gum and you spit it out when your done. I am not going to correct him on that one. I figure it might be healthier that he spit it out instead of swallow it. But that could be my ignorance too.
The other day I came home from work with just Westyn. I kid you not, that kid walked straight into the living room, picked up a piece of trash and then went to the kitchen and threw it away. No joke. I couldn't help but smile. I have never told him to do that or taught him to do it.
Westyn also starts yelling NO the minute we pull into the parking lot at ~~the worst place ever~~ school and doesn't stop until soon after I leave the building. It is sad, but also funny. I don't remember Jackson ever being that smart. The kid is stubborn and fiesty.
Jackson is on this Fiber One cereal bar kick... the kid could eat dozens a day if allowed. Westyn can finally master the spoon and loves to feed himself vogurt. He is so bad about breaking into the pantry for snacks that you will find our bottom shelf empty on purpose.
Dino Dan is still the favorite cartoon at the moment. Franklin is coming in a close second and of course Caliou is always in the running for some crazy reason.
Shaun hates that I don't iron his red shirts. Well, he doesn't hate it, but I know he reads this so this one is for him.
OH yeah, one of the funniest things is that jackson thinks a candy cane is called Dr. Pepper. I am not going to correct him on that one either. I have actually tried, but like his dad, he knows it all. Sorry babe.. I am on a roll.
Westyn is still crazy about remote controls and cell phones. He will be a tech geek when he grows up I am sure. He has some really awesome Christmas presents that he will not touch. He still likes to stuff toys in other toys and look for things he isn't supposed to have. Crazy kid.
We started a new bedtime routine this week and all was going well until Shaun and I both laid in Jackson's bed and broke it. No joke on that one either. Diets are a must. I wish I had my camera when that happened.
Westyn has finally decided he loves his Aunt Gigi. I think her picking him up at ~~the worst place ever~~ daycare did the trick.
Piper has put on a little extra weight and Tug is elated about the four wheeler.
That is all I can think of for now, not a bad start right?
I am still working on the diet thing. I am just eating healthy and exercising when I can. I got over the pink eye but now we have snow and below freezing temps and no treadmill. So, exercise isn't happening like it should. Here is a pic of my face.. ha ha.. I got a new hair do.. not a great pic, but just for fun!

SNOW DAYS.

Snow days aren't really my thing, I get stir crazy. I love to watch it snow, but after awhile I start tinkering with things. Shaun has to work in this great weather so me and the boys are spending more quality time together. We did go outside for a bit. It is a lot of work to get them layered up and then layered down again.

I have already organized toys, finished most of the laundry, cleaned floors, bathrooms are in good shape. Now that I have an extra day what am I going to do? I can always craft... like maybe make a new lamp shade. Shaun repeatedly gives me a hard time with my lamp obsession. I just love the light they give off and recently got rid of some to make room for new ones. I tend to switch out lamps every year, which to him seems insane. They have to match your furnishing and decor, and since we just moved into our new house it seemed to be something we should change. I thought instead of buying a new lamp and shade I would use stuff I had and just do a re-do. Here is what I did..

It is a work in progress, but I used an old basket as a lampshade and love the light it lets out. I actually have a little lamp shade placed under the basket. Shaun was pretty sure the basket itself was flammable so I cut a whole at the top and then placed it over the other lampshade.

it is cooler in person i promise! I plan on painting the stand part, but not sure what color yet. It needs something else, maybe ribbon, who knows. I like it!

Great news.. I think everyone is finally getting healthy.. and I went for a walk today!

Westyn still seems to have a cough, and Jackson isn't sleeping all that well, but we all seem to be doing 90% better. Hip Hip Hooray!

We also have a new addition to our garage, or maybe I should say a new toy for dad. I will add pictures of it soon, maybe this weekend after we get our foot of snow! :-)

Well, it is New Year's Eve

Now is my time to catch up on blogging..

I was off work this entire week and all I did was this..

Picture 1: Day 1 of not feeling well.

Day 2: Doctor's Visit (2 hours of waiting w/ a sick 18 month old-need I say more)

Days 3-5: This is what I saw the rest of the week while I sat in the recliner and held a sick kid with pink eye and an ear infection who would do nothing but sit in your lap all day.

DINO DAN.. this is all Westyn would want to watch. He would seriously through a fit if I changed it to any other cartoon. Dan gets on my nerves so you can imagine what watching it for 3 days straight does to a person. I have started referring to my kids as meat and plant eaters.

All and all I loved getting to spend the week with the boys, even though it wasn't much of a vacation.

I did try to put on a puppet show to amuse the clan of sick ones..(Shaun came down w/ pink eye as well) I am the only one that has managed to come thru this ok. I have been fighting allergies, but my fight is working so far. (knock on wood).

Jackson seemed to enjoy it, Westyn was probably going upstairs.

Eating with my spoon....

The boy is a little crazy about spoons so I thought I would give him a half empy container of applesauce to go to town.. this is the result....

The One behind the camera...

So, just for fun tonight I wanted to see the whole take a picture in a mirror type thing. I gave myself about 5 minutes to do this and this is what I got. I like the one w/ the camera in front of my face so you can't see me. And I love how I can now really see the double chin and extra face fat I have.

The crazy star! I had to document this as I don't know if this star will make it to next Christmas. I got it at Pier1 and I didn't realize it was going to be this big. This was the only spot I could find for it and it still looks massive! It is really shiny in person, and I do like it, but I have another one the same size and you should see where it ended up.

This is my new foyer table from TJ Maxx that I got for a great deal! I have changed up the basket at the bottom and will post some cool pics of it later.. And the lamp was a cool find and one of my favorites.

A Mom's Moment

I just thought I would comprise a post without any pictures of my boys, but rather of written memories.

This move to Arkansas has been one of our most exciting moves for several reasons, but it has been one of the hardest at the same time. Moving with 2 kids is way more difficult than having one and being pregnant w/ one. We have 2 schedules to get back to normal and 2 mouths to feed and the list goes on.

One of the biggest adjustments I am making, and the boys, is the daycare adjustment. Althought they are in good care, it changes everything on a daily basis. Jackson doesn't eat as well as he did w/ Jenna. They learn words and behaviors at daycare that I haven't had to deal w/ in quite some time, if ever. It seems as if we have reverted back to bad sleeping habits. I am happy to say that the last 2 nights have gotten a lot better. This cartoon clips pretty much sum up how I felt over the past week....

What makes these cartoons so funny is that they are just dreams! This is totally what happens when you try to rest...

Parenting and a lack of sleep can take a toll on you!

Thank you boys for finally making the adjustment and letting mom and dad get some rest!

Finally, a blog post!

Almost a month and I am sure all of you have all but forgotten about my blog.. I am sure you came to check daily, maybe weekly and saw nothing. My apologies! I will try to make this post triple in size to make up for all your wasted time!

We actually went the Pumpkin Patch so to take some pictures of a sweet little girl that belongs to a co-worker. Her pictures are going to be way too cute! I managed to get a few of my little guys too! I try to mix up the photos on here to the ones I post on FB but it is getting difficult lately!

I LOVED this one... this was taken when we first got there.. he wasn't sure what all that orange was about.

And it wouldn't be fall without a picture of Jackson on a horse (Blaze this time) and this guy hanging out in a box type thing.

The rest of the pictures from our day can't really compete with this one, but we have some fun ones that I am planning on framing. Shaun has been gone all week and Nana has been an allstar to help me out w/ the boys. I try to wear them both out before she comes over so they will nap well for her. Today I took them to the park. We didn't stay long because Jackson got bored and Westyn kept trying to climb up the slides and it was getting old.

Look at how big this kid looks.. I can't believe it. He is so smart and intelligent.. he doesn't need me for anything, although he asks a million questions an hour about who knows what. He is so observant too! I wish I could remember detailed conversations we have had this week but it is has been busy and I am exhausted.

I really tried to get a picture of the two of them but Westyn wasn't having it. Why would any 1.5 year old want to sit still for a picture?

Yeah.. this is what he did.. run around and laugh at mom w/ her camera. He is a MESS!!!!!!!!

We have had a good week, despite the craziness. Looks like next week might be much the same.

Fun Ideas...

For those of you who know me, you know I love to decorate. My house is like my shrine where I get to be creative, but my ideas have been dead in the water lately.

Since we are going to be moving I am wanting to make a gallery of my ideas (or those of others that I really like).. so that someday.. I can create the artwork and enjoy it...

I love all the frames hung on the wall just like so in this picture... espcially since I am loving taking

pictures of the family.. some of them can actually have pictures in them.. while I like the others just being blank.. or with fabric in them.

I love the spools of yarn in the bowl on top of a stack of books in this one.. this would be a good distraction for the little guy when I am trying to get dressed in the mornings..

And I love the different boxes/baskets on this bench.. and of course the bench is super cool!

The problem is that all of the things I like don't really have a common style theme... oh well I guess..

Life with a Summer Cold/Allergies...

I have been battling a major cold or allergy attach over the last week and praying that no one else in the house has to suffer through this... they are terrible.. I am sure there is some reason why this has to happen at least once a year so it is a good thing they only last a week!

We have been busy little people lately with a move coming in the future... very exciting for us but still a lot of work in front of us. In case you didn't get the memo, we are moving back to Arkansas...

Conway to be exact. We are so very excited that God has made all of our hard work with the wait to get us back to where we started our family! He does wonderful things. We are going to miss Tulsa and our friends and family here... but we know we will be back visiting a lot... even more since we are closer.

Details on the move will come when we get them, but Shaun has a wonderful opportunity and we are so proud of him!!

Our Sunday....

I took the boys up to the two neighborhood ponds on Sunday while Shaun was golfing. I thought it felt cooler but we were all hot and wet when we got back... ugh! Jackson threw rocks in the water and looked for bugs like most 3 year old boys and Westyn was content in the stroller. Wes is getting his molers and man, not a fun time. You forget about teething like you forget about childbirth.

Lucky for mom going outside is always a promise for smiles....

My boys amaze me so much..usually it is all good, but there are somethings (ie.. hard headedness) that are not pleasant!

We attempted a family photo after church.. did not go well, which I suspected. We are blurry but I am glad the front door is in focus.. what? Oh well, I will keep practicing.

We have had a very exciting week and it isn't over yet! I am photographying a wedding tomorrow and so excited!! Hope everyone has a good week and God Bless.

Two posts in one week... wow.. almost unheard of! I am trying to write this while the boys are amusing themselves and I don't know how much is going to get written! Westyn is cutting a moler so he has been awake since 5:30 a.m. nice.. right? I tried to get him back down but it wasn't happening.

This picture is a prime example of how his moods have been swinging lately!!! He is usually such a content little guy.

So, while I am trying to buy time before they go to Jenna's I decided to try to reorganize the toys again.. why do I do this? Seriously? These kids have so much stuff. If there is a batman we have him..or dinosaurs..so many stinkin dinosaurs!! I am thinking I am going to have to invest in some type of locks for the cabinets.

It is hard to tell in this photo but Jackson is playing w/ his tractors in the fireplace. Shaun hates that I let him do this but I remember as a child Michelle and I taking our hotwheels outside to play in the gravel.

Breaking News: Jackson just ran outside to pee... yet another habit we are trying to break.

I think if I work slow enough I can get them in the car and out the door soon...

July 10th, 2010 Trip to Arkansas
We started the day swimming on Saturday

Westyn wasn't too thrilled with the water for some reason this day, so no good pictures of him. Jackson kind of just did his own thing. The pool belongs to my mom's boss, Kevin, and his wife Lita. We were very appreciative of them letting our kids exert their energy for the afternoon.

Then moved on to fun at home eating and playing outside

The weeping willow... I remember when my parents first planted this tree, wow, has it grown. Jackson looks like a little monster coming out of the tree, and Wes looks so little.

Then a grabbing of the shirt and maybe a bite to the shoulder. These images are hysterical to me. I tend to forget the innocence of little ones and I am glad I have these sweet pictures as a reminder. The pretty little girl belongs to our friends Brad and Tanae and she is a doll!

I can't believe you have already been with us a year! You have been such a blessing to our family and the best baby! As I sit here looking over your pictures and your smiles I can' t help but smile right back at you sweet boy.
At the old age of 1, you are starting to eat everything you can get your hands on. You love remote controls, working cell phones, and outlets. You are strong willed and hard headed... and you can spot what you want from anywhere. You are the happiest when your brother is around, however, I can sense that will soon change. He loves you to death, but stay clear of any toys he is currently playing with, it won't end well!
You LOVE music!! You love the beginning and end of every kid show. You have mastered the wave and can say Momma, Dadda, Nana, and a few other things, just not sure they are words.

This post is kind of random, but I thought inspirational! We took a quick trip to Arkansas this weekend to visit Michelle and Prestyn. We got to see my parents and some of the BAS girls which was awesome! Westyn and Jackson got to meet MR. Matthew and that was super cool. We got back and Jackson and Kinsley had a little pizza party in his playset. Moving around like we have makes me really start to miss people, especially my friends. I have made some awesome friends along the way and someday, in a perfect world, we would all live in the same place and get to see each other everyday! I hope my boys grow up making lots of memorable friends along the way. God certainly puts people in your life for a reason, and for that I am ever so grateful!

Speaking of Friends... Yvonne lost her best friend about a week ago and I know it is going to be tough! Shaun's Aunt Karen went to be with her Daughter Jennifer in Heaven, and although this is probably where she would have wanted to be, it still hard for those she left behind! We know that someday we will see them both again, and that day will be a memory we can just begin to dream about! We love you and Miss you Aunt Karen!

A Day at the Park
I absolutely love these shots of Jackson swinging! It is amazing how beautiful it is to see the sky w/ your son's face... makes my heart smile. We are so blessed to have had you 3 wonderful years ago. You have been such a strong spirit for us. You make us smile when we want to cry and make us laugh when we want to scream. You are not scared of anything and although that scares me to death, I know you are going to grow up big and strong like your Daddy. You were a wonderful baby and have always been a good sleeper. Easter 2010.

Great Grandma and Grandpa Joe

Nana had the idea late Saturday to make a trip out to see Shaun's grandparents @ Fort Gibson Lake and the boys had a blast. Jackson did so good with egg hunting and Westyn had a good time just being outside and watching. There were a little too many rocks to let him free to roam. The boys also got some late Christmas gifts.. always fun.. then they went fishing. Jackson was more into throwing rocks into the lake than catching fish. The weather was beautiful and we are so blessed to get to spend such a wonderful Easter with great Family. Happy Easter!

Westyn's Turn!! Westyn, man I cannot believe you are already 9 months. You are into just about everything you aren't supposed to be and it is a job to chase you around. You are almost 23 pounds and can pull up, crawl, and are really close to that first step. I anticipate any day now. You are stubborn, just like your dad and brother. You are a determined little bugger who is willing to make noise to get your point across. You made things a little rough for the grandparents while we were gone which is to be expected, but you have pretty much been the angel for me as usual. There is so much more I could post but I can't get your brother to take a nap and now he is in here pestering me while you are sleeping you. Love you little man.

Jackson- Almost 3 Years

okay, so technically he isn't three yet, but we are starting some crazy extracurricular activities very soon and the timing may not be there so I thought I would take some pics today and post them.

I cannot believe you are already 3 years old.

You are saying and doing so many things that big boys do it is so amazing. You are getting a little nicer to your baby brother, but still not too chill about him playing with your toys. You ham it up for pictures, but I can barely hold you still. You still eat pretty good when you want too and I would say potty training is about 90% complete. If we could keep you naked you would love that and use the potty everytime. You are definitely keeping us learning as parents and for that we love you even more!

If there was one place we would have rather been last week instead of the beach it would have been to say our goodbyes to a beloved family member. Shaun's cousin Jennifer passed away unexpectedly two weeks ago and we were not able to attend the funeral. Jennifer was a daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, loving wife and a dedicated mother. Her passing was a reminder to cherish the time we have with our loved ones everyday. I could write so much more about this amazing person who left this earth so early, but I will keep this post short.

So this is where it began. This is probably all going to be out of order as I scramble to post these so I won't forget what a wonderful vacation this was. Not to brag, there were ear aches, stomach aches and sunburns, but all and all it was pretty incredible.

We have a crawler on our hands

It only took eight months to figure out how to get started, and then a couple weeks later he got the hang of it!

Not catching much at this spot, it is time to go on! We can only hope the hot dogs are a big a hit w/ these catfish as they were with Jackson, as he ate three raw hot dogs during this trip!

The End to a short little trip.

There is a really awesome park in Tulsa where there is a massive dog park. This is the spot Shaun picked to go fishing. We can't wait to bring the dogs out there, but not when we have both kids. I have never seen so many dogs. I have a few pictures to post, but this post alone is taking forever for some reason.

So, Here it is, the Colonial Majestic, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Hopefully soon we will be laying on this beach enjoying some peace and quiet and fresh air. I can not explain how excited, but nervous I am about this trip. I have never been out of the US for anything, my kids have never had parents leave the US, and I don't really know any second languages.

I am however, embracing the moment and going to enjoy every minute that I can. This is the reason I have been working so hard to fit into a swimsuit. This is the reason I have switched to zero calorie beverages and eat only Healthy Choice/Weight watcher/or Lean Cusine meals for the last 2 weeks. This is the reason I am probable the healthiest I have been in over 2 years. So, even if we go and it rains the entire time, it was worth all the prep to get ready for this trip and I am going to eat and be lazy until my heart is content. I think just preparing for this trip and a week away is going to exhaust me so much that I might sleep the entire airplane ride there.. hopefully!

Westyn was probably trying to grab at some toy and was about to fall over. He hasn't quite got crawling down, but he is becoming a pro at getting to things by rolling there. Obviously Westyn is a lot more excited about this than Jackson. He absolutely loves taking a bath
with his brother... splishing and splashing until everyone is soaked.

Then playing together after bathtime is alway fun. Sharing isn't really an issue yet as Jackson just
pushes Westyn aside.

For some reason Picasa will only let me blog like three photos at a time so I have to keep doing a new post, which is annoying, but I am sure anyone reading this doesn't really care. Jumping off this chair, the couch, and people was just about all these boys did all weekend. I edited them and played around just for fun.. I am sure I will be getting much more of these shots before it is all said and done.

I can't imagine what it will be like when we add one more boy to the mix.. seriously. It could get crazy and is bound to get dangerous.

February, Week 1, 2010
This week has been pretty uneventful except that Mommy has been infected by the sinus monster!! UGH.. no fun, but I am managing. Westyn hasn't had the greatest of weeks due to the four teeth he is getting. Jackson has been doing pretty well. He took a nice little bribe, so to speak, so he has been using the potty more.. yippee. I took a couple of shots of the boys this morning that were ever so cute and I had to share.

Look at how big this boy is getting. Sometimes I have to look twice.

I thought this shot was priceless. I don't know that I will ever get a really cute shot of the two of them again. It is hard enough to get Jackson to participate at all. I love these boys to death.. they make my heart go pitter patter.

I also wanted to send an update on my weightloss. Sorry I don't have any cool pictures to update but it will come in time.. just not had time to take a good shot. I think I am loosing inches, maybe... can't tell a lot of weight. I haven't been feeling so hot so I basically am at a standstill which isn't good considering this trip is still planned for the same dates. However, I am sticking to my watching my calorie intake and trying to exercise every chance I get.

Weeks 3-4.... Man, have we been so busy that I don't even have time to blog much anymore... ridiculous. I figured I would get this blog in before the ice storm hits and we are without power. I can't even tell you what has kept us so busy except that I can't seem to catch up on anything. Shaun and I are both working out and getting ready for our trip in March so that might be why all my spare time is devoted to everything else that I have to get done. Last weekend was wonderful, or maybe it was two weekends ago, anyway.. these are some shots we got when the weather was decent.

My future singer...or sooner, which ever he prefers. Wes loves to hear music though and the only thing that will put him to sleep sometimes is when I sing him Jingle Bells.. yah, really. He loves that song, he starts out laughing and by the second chorus he is out like a light. HOWEVER, he is working on 3 new teeth this week so Jingle Bells is only working after I have sang it like five times, if then..

And this guy.. what can I say. He is crying, and I know it looks sad, but try to see the fun in it. I assure you there was nothing really to be crying about.

We have had some illness in our house so potty training is currently at a halt..not too happy with that, but it is understandable considering the cirucmstances. Maybe I will have time to post more before the storm comes, we shall see.

Well, it appears our little man is recovering quite well! It has been a great week for all of us since Jackson seems just fine. I added some more pictures to my other blog today "All About Me".. I may try to add them here later as well, but this has taken up to much of my time already. Let me just say I am glad this week is over.
